Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's success, the gifted cast also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards during the show.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only four categories—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by reviewers.
