British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared condolences for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
